Depends. What airport? How many other intercontinental will be landing around the same time? Will there be a job action by Immigration inspectors? Of course Immigration is the time consuming process. Customs is just walking out the "Nothing to Declare" door with your luggage.
Give yourself an hour.

You haven't mentioned what airport, but the answer is the same for all:
Immigration time varies depending on time/#of planes arriving/# of lines open at immigration.
Private transfers generally ask for your flt. #, which solves the issue.
