I was wondering about how much time it would take for four people to go through customs at the Munich airport.

I think you mean passport control. Customs is usually a no brainer, you just go through the green "nothing to declare" line/pathway & walk through. I'm not familiar with Munich airport so I'll let someone who is give you advice about passport control.

We went through Munich customs/passport control in September and it took about 45 minutes in total with four people. This was in the middle of the night, however.

We flew into Munich in the Spring. It was less than an hour to get through. There are lots of variables.
- We deplaned remotely and caught a bus to the main terminal. Our fairly small Boeing 767 was less than full and still took 2 buses. A larger plane???
- Border control was slow until they added another agent.
-Our luggage was near the last to come on the conveyor belt
-Customs was a wave through as mentioned
