My wife and I went recently on a road trip to the Black Forest looking for a Cuckoo Clock. We visited about 8 different towns in the area and ended up in Triberg, our final destination, in order to compare notes and make a final decision on where to buy it. After making our purchase I noticed that the clock does not have a sticker from the VsD, an organization representing master carvers in the area. Is this a must have in order to ensure the authenticity of the clock? I've seen it on clocks sold by the big retailers and outlets in the area; I did some research on it and it seems like only a gimmick to revalidate the clocks that are mass produced in the area. Anyone knows about this?
