costs for train travel between munstertal (schwardzward) germany, to florence italy

I am having a hard time calculating how much it would be to take a train from Munstertal (schwardzward) germany, to Florence itlaly.

I would like to stay in florence for 3 nights and take a day trip to cinque terre. any tips would be great.

Mary, you tried the German Rail website, Deutsche Bahn? www.bahn.com in English. Its Schwarzwald, BTW.

Hi Mary

You take the local train from Munstertal to Staufen - this is a 9 minute trip - buy ticket locally

EDIT: the 9:48 train has only 3 changes and arrives in Florence at 18:59

Because European railways now price their tickets much like airlines, that is a tough question. Buy a ticket at the station tomorrow, and it could be expensive. Buy tickets that are nonrefundable 3 months ahead and they can be quite a deal. When are you traveling?
It could be anywhere from 175 EUR tomorrow walk up price to 79 EUR 3 months from now with nonrefundable ticket.

If you click the link I put in my last post you can check using your travel date. I just used a random date of June 16 and there is a button to request a price for this trip - so put in your date then request a price.
