We just got back from a trip that included 2 nights in Dusseldorf. We really enjoyed our time there. Lots of great neighborhoods, restaurants and pubs. It is a lively city. Many hotels give free transit passes. We found the metro, trams and buses very easy to use. We hope to go back someday.

Yes, Düsseldorf is an interesting city indeed to visit. The Königsallee shows the wealth of the place. As usual, You have to know where to go in Düsseldorf. When I'm there, I stay at a three star hotel across from the Hbf....very convenient, (one of my reasons for this choice), and it too offers a free transport ticket. For a single the price is ca. 55 Euro with the WC.
