Has anyone used a concierge service to get through Customs at Frankfurt airport. I have heard of many delays since EES was implemented and would like to avoid that since we have a tight train connection to Zurich.
I have never heard of anyone using them--they cost more than 500 euro per person.
If you have money to spend, buy business class tickets and get in the priority line.
There is no customs, unless you are bringing in massive amounts of items for re-sale, or need to declare huge amounts of currency....it's immigration you are worried about....
If one in your party has a disability, you can use a wheelchair service...
Sorry, none of the couples we’ve traveled with recently would fork out 1,000 Euro’s to cut a wait time of walking thru immigration. I’m sure we all wish we had that kind of discretionary cash.
I wonder if I'm using the wrong terminology: I used Extime in Paris last year and it was around 185 Euro for a couple to be met at the plane door and led through all of the Immigration/Customs desks and luggage pickup. It was a great service, but they only operate in Paris, I believe. That's what I'm looking for at Frankfurt. Is there something similar to Extime?
Trains from FRA to Zurich are fairly frequent, although there are only 2 direct, at 11:51 and 15:51. Why not just relax and take next available train after you clear EES and get your luggage? Maybe 1 or 2 connections at most for the other trains. After all, even if your flight is scheduled to land at a certain time, there is no guarantee that will happen.
I had never heard of that type of service so I googled. If you google it you’ll find several different companies listed for the VIP service at the Frankfurt airport. You’re on a travel forum where quite a few of us have traveled, some extensively, in Europe. I don’t mean to hurt your feelings or offend but paying a company especially that much money to walk you from the plane door thru immigration and onto baggage pick up just seems….quite extravagant (unless you’re disabled and even then there’s free airport service for wheelchair assistance) when it’s so easily done on your own. But if you thinks it’s worth your while then you should do it.
Thanks for this post and the responses.
In have been searching unsuccessfully for information about rail porters in Europe. My wife and I are approaching an age where getting an overhead sized roller bag onto a train can be a challenge. We've already gone to always checking bags on airlines rather than fighting the bag down the aisle and into the overhead.
