According to RS, it is possible to get a combo ticket for these two palaces. However, I have had trouble doing it online.
I have the BWCard as well. I can get a comboof Sanssouci palace and other royal building but not New Palace.
Any thoughts or help will be greatly appreciated.

I would go to the tourist office in Potsdam Hbf, top floor across from the book and magazine shop.
Brochures are available (where I get my updated info) and you can arrange for this combo ticket, Neues Palais and Sans Souci

The Tourist Office is a wealth of information as shown in its display of brochures, very nice staff.
If you intend to do the boat cruise on the Havel River, the ticket (senior ticket also available) can be purchased there too, as well as other activities in the greater Potsdam area, ie, seeing Schlösser other than Neues Palais and Sans Souci.
