We are planning our September trip to Germany . I would like to attend mass at the Cologne cathedral is this possible and if so what are times? We would like to reserve a guided tour how do I go about this?
Thank you,crissy
You can find information on Mass and guided tours ( including a link to reserving) here:
Absolutely, it is possible and you are welcome to attend mass at the Cologne cathedral. That link Lola gave you is the perfect one and also includes the masses. You may want to check the website shortly before your visit because there may be seasonal changes in the service hours.
Something to be aware of is that the cathedral is closed to tourists and sightseeing during mass. So in case some security person or usher addresses you, make sure you let them know that you want to attend mass.
In famous churches, they usually have to be strict about that because there are tourists trying to get in all the time, wandering all over the place and clicking away with their cameras and disturbing mass.
P.S. I had just been wondering how you would reverse a guided tour... ;-)
