Hi I am planning a 10 trip Sept 16 to 25 flying into Düsseldorf and wanting to see the Dom in Cologne and Ghent and Bruges I am wondering if it is worth staying 1 night in Düsseldorf or just train right to cologne

Just head to Cologne if you have nothing specific in mind for D'dorf.

plenty of hotels in Cologne and then you are in the right place for getting to Belgium.
Despite 50+ years old memories of being in Düsseldorf when I went back it really didn't do anything for me - even with a friend's family there.
I'd just skoot on to Cologne.

Thank you very much that’s kind of the feeling I got anyway it’s just nice to have it validated. Do you think it would be worthwhile spending some time and some of the smaller towns around cologne before going to Ghent and Bruge
