I work for a small company in Regensburg and will be there from Dec 10-15. I will have free tine late afternoons and evenings which should be enough time to enjoy the multiple markets.
We are trying to decide how best to use sone of our additional time in Germany to see other markerts. We arrive into Munich on Dec 7 (Thurs) and as noted above need to be in Regensburg on 10th. (Sunday). We were thinking of keeping Munich as our base for 3 nights… to do the markets there for 2 days Thursday and Friday) to do a day trip to Saltzburg on Saturday. Then maybe on Sunday a few more markets back in Munich with later afternoon train to Regensburg.
We then check out if Regensburg Friday Dec 15 with flight out of Munich Dec 17 morning. Trying to think if it wound be doable to visit another city via train tgat takes us in direction of Munich for Friday late morning through Saturday evening with train to Munich airport and stay at hotel out there. Looking for for ideas on where to go tgat Friday/Saturday? Was considering Augsburg. But perhaps Landshut or Passau are other options Was even thinking maybe Staying in kilheim and coujd go to Weltenberg (if boat runs this tine of year).
Would appreciate recommendations on where to go as well as thoughts on first part of trip using Munich as base.
