Any suggestions on markets in southern Germany, and potentially some books or websites? We're looking at flying into FRA then visiting Heidelberg south to Rothenburg OBT, Nurnberg and Munich. Flying out of MUC 13 days total.

Near Frankfurt but heading south, I would look at Seligenstadt, Michelstadt and Speyer. All, lovely, medieval type towns with beautiful markets.

Regensburg is our favorite combination of city and Christmas Markets. There is a "Romantic" Market at the Thurn and Taxis Palace as well as two others in old town.
It is a good stop between Nürnberg and Munich.

Munich has several Christmas markets, even one at the airport! In Nurnberg, I would NOT go on a weekend as it is held in one spot and will be very busy!
