Christmas Market dates?

We are coming to Germany from Nov 22-Dec 3rd....wondering will most markets be going on or are we too early? Being from the US we are in full swing by end of Nov here for all the holiday stuff but not sure how it works in Europe.

It depends. Markets open at different times. Some are only open for one weekend during Advent. This year, there is a religious holiday on Sun. 26 Nov. that will have many cities delaying opening until the 27th. There are some cities that will open early and may just be closed on the 26th. Check the websites for each city you are planning to visit. If they don't have their dates posted yet, wait a while.
Holiday stuff will be happening, decorated cities, Christmas treats usually hit the grocery stores around the end of Aug. Stores start selling holiday decorations sometime in Oct.

The one thing that we noticed ten years ago was that the markets started shutting down on Christmas eve and completely gone by Christmas day. The beer halls were open but most everything was closed on Christmas day but that is where the fun was.

Frank, most markets shut down on the 22nd or 23rd, so that everything is gone and the vendors are all home with their families by the 24th. It is very seldom that a market is open until the 24th.
