Hands-on class near Munich

We're passing through Munich for two days in early August on the way home from an Italian/Austrian vacation and I'm having difficulty finding anything to do there that would please a Tween that is into Adventure, Shopping Art and Cooking. No museums. We especially like hands-on experiences like Chocolate-Making, Cheese, pretzel-making... something unusual would be nice. Any suggestions... I haven't been to Germany in 25 years. Thanks

Hi,
Would the tween enjoy vintage, second-hand, or thrift shopping? Let me know what sort of shopping he or she is into. Also, what days of the week will you be in Munich?

Hi Mark. I work in the business, so I'll pass on the studio tour. Appreciate the suggestion, though.

Hi Dan... My tween daughter is into unique local adventures, making art, making food, shopping and hand-on experiences... We really enjoyed Truffle hunting in Italy... and anything where we can immerse ourselves in a local activity typically proves to be a good time: Glass-making, Pottery, Chocolate-making, Pretzel-Making... in that vein would be idea. Thank you

I think the 'Auer Dult' might be some shopping experience out of the ordinary, as they sell everything from antiques to household items. There's also plenty to eat and a small fairground. It's a completely different Munich, and tourists rarely come there - July 26 to August 3, 2025

There are pretzel-baking courses, but they're rare. There's still an operating flour mill in Munich's old town, but unfortunately, they won't be offering classes again until fall. That would be exciting. Maybe ok to ask? https://www.hofbraeuhaus-kunstmuehle.de/

I'd just search on google, because I don't have any recommendations for courses in early August - "Munich workshops for tourists."

You wouldn't believe it, but Munich is a graffiti city. Workshops are also offered according to google search.

Climbing on the roof of the Olympic Stadium is an adventure for me. Not sure if they offer it in August: https://www.olympiapark.de/en/tours-sightseeing/guided-tours/roof-climb
