Hello,
We need a hotel near the Chiemsee for a few nights at the end of July. Please help advise me. I cannot read some of the German reviews on vrbo ads and we want an air conditioned place. Huge thanks from a bewildered traveler.

Never stayed here, but stopped in for a drink: Yachthotel Chiemsee. Don't know if they have some airconditioned rooms or not. Most German hotels do not have airconditioning as you have found out. In the summer I bring my own fan and a Mückenstecker as most German hotels have no window screens either. Most hotels can provide a fan. Stay away from attic rooms and those in the full sun during the day. During hot periods, German airconditioning is windows closed and Rollos down during the day.
