The airport code for Munich is MUC.
United flys there direct from ORD (O'hare).

If you're going to Munich, then it would in my opinion make sense to fly to Munich airport. Lufthansa has direct flights.

There’s only one airport in Munich. It’s pretty easy and I believe several airlines fly nonstop.
