Can anybody help me with the current directions to get to the castle? I am trying to do my research prior to arriving and noted that the main road is closed.

According to the road construction authorities of Baden-Württemberg the access to Lichtenstein Castle (Schloss Lichtenstein in German) is possible from Genkingen (a little town about 4 kms west of Schloss Lichtenstein). There is also a town with the name of Lichtenstein down in the valley. You shouldn't mistake one for the other. What might be useful for you to know is the German word for deviation/diversion: UMLEITUNG.
