Carry On Luggage Restrictions Air Berlin

I will be traveling to Germany in August, I have a carry-on. I have been measuring every small carry on I can find to meet the requirements for AirBerlin, and now I realize that the one I chose may be wrong. I have read that some airlines do and some don't?

I looked up restrictions and sizes allowed. I wondered if the size allowed includes the wheels? I have a small carry on which is 20" or 50.8 cm. But with wheels, it is 22.5 inches or 57.15 cm. On the AirBerlin site, they only allow 55 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm for carry-ons. Will they reject my bag?

you may get it on depending on how full the flight is and where you are in the boarding order.
they will say something in the gate area before the boarding. and check it at the gate otherwise.

The dimensions shown by the airlines as a limit are the total dimensions including wheels. As pointed out by a recent Consumer Reports article, luggage sellers are notorious for ignoring the added space taken by their wheels, but airlines include them. Yes, depending on the situation, the airlines might let it slide, but if they don't, you have no recourse. Be safe,
