Does anyone have recommendations for inexpensive, but nice hotels in Hanover? We'll be there in Spring 2019 for about a week. Or, does anyone know whether there are parts of town we should avoid when looking for a hotel? We will arrive by train from Amsterdam or possibly Belgium. Thank you for any suggestions!
It depends on the reason for your stay, but I have found the InterCityHotel Hannover to be perfect for my visits. It is near the train station, is within walking distance of shopping and restaurants and museums. Sights farther out, such as Herrenhausen Gartens, are easily accessible by tram, and a city transportation pass is included with the room.
I agree with the hotel suggestion. Keep in mind too that Hannover Hbf is a big station, two levels, lots of eateries (very convenient) and shops, and a junction point east to west and south to north for regional trains and the IC and ICE trains.
Hanover has no no-go areas, nothing to avoid in that matter.
For low prices avoid end of March to early April as date of stay. Fair Hannover Messe is putting up prices.
