I am looking to spend a day or two in Bonn. I already have the Beethoven-Haus and Haribo store on my list of things to do. Do you have a recommendation for what else to do, where to eat, or where to stay? I will be there in Spring and will most likely be on my own. Thanks.
Aside from recommending the Beethoven Haus (which you're seeing anyway), I would suggest going to Bad Godesberg, nice view from there. I have not been back to Bonn in ages.
Thinking to travel to Bonn then Köln this April, do you guys know the cherry blossom is still there in Bonn? Or is it already too late?
If you enjoy composers, I recommend a visit to the Schumann house too. http://www.bonner-schumannfest.de/verein_schumannhaus_bonn/?lang=en. It is a 30 minute walk or 15 minute bus ride from the center. Our Berlin music professor friend took us to lunch at Gaststätte Em Höttche, his go to place in Bonn at 4 Markt. We enjoyed Bonn more than I was expecting and would gladly return for a visit.
Any hotel recommendations?
What about the German national museum of contemporary history? That looks really interesting, and I know I've got it on my Bonn list, if and when I get there.
