I actually have two questions. First, has anyone rented a BMW with the BMW on Demand at BMW Welt? My husband is nuts about BMWs (he's had 2) and we're doing the plant tour, etc. But thinking about renting a high-end model for a few hours right there. Any experiences with this? Also, we are trying to rent a BMW to drive from Munich-Bacharach-Frankfurt for 4 days. Sixt seems like the best option thus far. Who should I rent through to receive the best deal and best chance of getting a BMW? (I understand you're only guaranteed a class, not a model....but is there a way around this?) Our current plans are to reserve a BMW 3 that only has one other car (Mercedes) in it's class, and calling a few days out to request again. TIA!

If you want the high end BMW for a high speed run on the autobahn make sure that the terms and conditions don't prohibit this; and be aware that the autobahns around Munich are busy and crowded and not always fast. Understand the meaning of "Stau".

I usually rent with Sixt and have been very happy with their service. I know they have BMWs (I've rented several from them) but there is almost no chance to guarantee that is what you will end up with. You are correct that your best bet is to call a few days ahead and just ask if they can hold one for you. Based on my experience they will try and accommodate you.
