I will be renting a car in Stuttgart for 24 hours. I am looking for ideas where to sleep the night for an epic Black Forest Trip.We Leave Stuttgart 6 :00 pm, drive- where to eat dinner somewhere -drive,then sleep for the night, arise for early road trip all day until 6pm to return porsche back to Stuttgart, then to Mainz that evening. I'm thinking Baden-Baden charm. We plan to drive in a Porsche convertible and return 6pm the following day. Any suggestions: i will have my teen son with me- therefore the baths, beer and wine tasting are not especially necessary. but castles, food, and views are a must:)

You might consider the Schwarzwald-Hochstraße, B500. It begins at Baden-Baden in the north.

It's not entirely clear whether you want to experience the black forest (where people like to stroll or hike) or the soul crushing traffic and occasional speed limits of the German highway system. I'd warn you that the actual Black Forest roads have the curves and hills of Vermont or Utah (but well paved.) I'd worry in the summer about having to use the overflow parking when you stop at a waterfall and having undercarriage damage to the Porsche.
