My husband and I are traveling by car with another couple.My friend and I love hiking/walking. What would be a good hike from one town to another where we could meet up with our husbands later.They would rather sit and watch people(drink beer and snack)We will be in the Black Forest area for three days.

Following the path suggested in Rick's Germany book, I hiked from the town of St. Märgen to the town of St. Peter. I got to/from each by train and bus, but of course you could have someone you drop at one town and meet you at the other. Hike took maybe 3-4 hours(?) at most - I really don't remember, but it was an easy hike and the views would have been amazing on a nice day. It was a bit overcast when i hiked.

The Lossburg - Alpirsbach Flosserpfad might work for you. 12 km and there is a brewery in Alpirsbach
