Biking in Cochem Area

We'll be in Cochem for 4 nights and we are excited at the possibility of renting bikes for a day or two. Wondering if people can help steer us towards some resources and information for biking around the Cochem area. We are especially interested in some of the local wineries in the area as well as just enjoying visiting the area around the town on bikes. When we ride at home our typical range is 20-30 miles tops and we ride at a more leisurely pace (we aren't competitive riders).

So any suggestions on where to rent in Cochem and places to go, or websites that we can check out to learn more would be much appreciated!

Hi all,

Hadn't heard anything on this, so thought I'd re-post in case someone came along and hadn't seen it. Thanks!

I'm not familiar with bike rental places in Cochem but can speak to biking along the Mosel in either direction. Nice bike lane separate from the road; small towns along the river; there is a Mosel Radweg (bikeway) map available (mine is old, in German) that has the towns, the distances, the sights in each place. Very nice. I wonder if Amazon would have the map/booklet. I'm curious now and will check.
I loved biking along the Mosel several years ago. Might have to put it on list again. :)

Hello Jed,

I’m not into biking myself but if you look at this site -http://www.myeuropebase.net/cycling.html & scroll to the bottom of the page there are lots of web addresses for cycling, one of them may be able to help you.

Cochem to Zell (Mosel) is approximately 40km (combine with rail, bus or cruise one-way)

PS: it’s a very nice place to stay too.
