Hello again Helpliners - During our stay in Cochem, my husband and I plan to spend a day biking around the Mosel making stops in some of the various villages. I understand from what I've read so far that the bike paths are flat, easy terrain. I'm trying to develop an itinerary for us and I'm starting to run around in circles. Ideally, I'd like to bike down one side of the river and return on the opposite side so we're not duplicating the trip, but after looking at the maps I'm not sure where a good stopping point would be. We definitely want to make a stop in Beilstein along the way. I'd like to hear from anyone who has cycled this area of the Mosel and has suggestions for a route or other tips to share. Thank you!
The best trail along the Mosel starts in Bullay, just a couple of stops south of Cochem on the train. You can take your bike on the train (might have to buy a bike ticket). The trail follows the river all the way to Trier. There is also a "bike bus" that parallels the trail on the highway that you can use to return to Bullay if you venture beyond the rail lines.

edit- Yes, the bike trail along the Mosel does pass through Beilstein and Cochem and all the way to Koblenz.
Sounds like good advice. Also, do ask for maps or advice at the local Tourist Information Office.
