I really liked that upstairs section in the back and found those center seats fine. Some people use the space for a passthrough, but it's not too bad. My experience was on AF, not Lufthansa. We always choose the upstairs.

Another vote for upstairs, it is quieter!
Warning about bulkhead seats though : the armrests are immovable and wider than on normal seats, so seat width is slightly reduced as a result. If you or someone of your party is of a larger frame, it can be a problem.

Being upstairs in the back will we be one of the last to deplane?

When I booked that upstairs section, we were close to last to deplane. I loved how much calmer it felt up there.

Thanks - that is what we were wondering as we are trying to make a particular train - was hoping we could deplane with the business class and first class folks from upstairs
