Hello! My friend and I will be staying in Frankfurt one night before heading back to the US. Where can we get an amazing German pretzel? My only other travels in Germany were in Cologne and while I had some great Belgian fries there, I never did find a great pretzel. Thanks!
Frankfurt Bretzel-Nein
Go to Bavaria-best ones!
Agree pretzl is sold all over Germany but it is as Bavarian as can be :-)
Brezelkönig (but that's in Switzerland)
actually the best one is the one in your hand...
Just about any bakery will do it especially in a train station. Buttered pretzels in Munich are my favorite.
@ Calvados
Whenever I'm asking myself what would I miss in terms of food when I move away from Munich buttered Pretzel (Butterbreze) is the one :-)
Honestly, Ditsch has the best pretzels in Frankfurt. They are located in the Hauptbahnhof and always have hot pretzels for sale. I eat one almost every day on my way to work.
Second Ms. Jo. Broadly speaking any major terminal in Germany will have the warm out of the oven pretzel from local and chain stands.
Thank you! We are flying out shortly and look forward to finding a good pretzel!
Kemps has good pretzels as well as lots of other tasty treats. For something a tiny bit different try the Salt and Pepper (Salz und Pfeffer) prezel from Eiffler. They are delicious. Am addicted to them.
There are a number if places in the Frankfurt Airport serving pretzels in case you don't get any by then. Also if you need a last minute fix. Not sure about best... likely not...but I always get one if I have to connect through Frankfurt Airport and they have been pretty good. Several vendors.
