We are planning to travel to Bavaria/Tirol this summer and wonder which luge/mountain coaster would be most exciting to four males ages 16-21. We will have a car for part of our visit and will be in the Salzburg/Berchtesgaden as well as Fussen/Garmisch areas. Thank you!
There's Tegelberg just about 2 minutes drive from Neuschwanstein and there is another one just behind the Salt Mines in Berchtesgaden. You can take the gondola from the Salt Mines.
Blombergbahn near Bad Tölz. It's over a kilometer long, through both the forest and a field, and right off the road between Berchtesgaden and Füssen.
Only have experience with Tegelberg, but the entire family thought it was great fun!
You said Tirol so I will add this one in Imst, AT. I rode this one several years ago. Nice area for hiking too.

Hi,
It is called/signed "Sommerrodelbahn" in Germany and Austria.
There's the one at Tegelberg by Fuessen.
One in Garmisch

One overlooking Berchtesgaden

One close to Berchtesgaden/Salzburg at Bad Durrnberg

Thank you for all the suggestions. It sounds as if they are all great so we will probably see which one(s) turns out to be most convenient!
Hi All,
Hoping you could recommend location with easiest access from train station for solo female. I'm guessing none are walkable but are any a cheap- and easy to get- cab ride? I'm planning on hitting up Fussen to see the castles and am debating bus tour from Munich but now wondering if I should just take the train down myself and try to fit in a coaster & spa while I'm in the area. Would love thoughts/ suggestions. Thanks.
You said "spa"? Allow me to introduce you to the best in all of Germany:
Some make a distinction between 'sommerrodelbahn' where you go in a trough and 'alpine coaster' where your cart is mounted on rails.
Hi, just found one one near Loreley & wondering if anyone has been.
I'll be staying in Boppard & trying to figure out if I can easily get there from St. Goarshausen train or Ferry station. The website says there is a bus nearby but don't want to count on that as only means...is there any chance for taxis nearby or another train/ferry station that's closer?
Thanks
