Best eSim for Germany

There are quite a number of posts here about using Airalo and Orange eSims, so you may want to look for those. I used Airalo last year for one month in Germany. It worked very well.

Keep in mind that Airalo does not give you a phone number to use, athough you can always use WhatsApp or any other VoIP app for calling. Orange will give you a French phone number.

Thank you for the information. I don’t believe I would need to make any calls so that isn’t an issue. If I did, like you said, I would just use WhatsApp. Dumb question with Airalo would it keep my exiting contacts and phone number then? Could ppl still reach me via iMessage when they want to reach me?

Yes, you can access any of your iPhone apps, like Messages, Contacts and so on while you are using Airalo. I would call my daughter and sister when I was in Germany using WhatsApp for my daughter (who is a contact in there) but my sister did not have a WA number so I called her using FaceTime Audio, which worked very well.

Airalo's Czech SIM gives you a phone number and roams in the EU

I use Telecom's esim and it works great. But I don't know if they have a short time/or pay as you go option.
