Best Day of the Week for Neuschwanstein?

Hi! I will be in Munich on a Friday-Tuesday in mid-December. Is there a better day of the week to visit the castle, crowd-wise?
Also, does anyone know if the bus tours Rick mentions include Hohenschwangau and/or the bridge? Or if the tours are flexible enough that I could go see those things without the group?

I went last year on the GAS tour to Neuschwanstein in September. Since the RS office handled it, we had a reservation. I would check on line and look at their website. See if you can make a timed reservation, also we had our tour group and a few others on the tour. So even though there were a lot of people waiting in the courtyard to see the castle they only take so many in a group to see the castle. You do not go into the castle on your own and wander around. It is a controlled setting, where you go in as a group and have a guide. If I was going I would pick Monday or Tuesday. I find many people go on the weekends to see sites since maybe they don't live far. But who is to say. Plus you are going in December when it is more of an off season. It really is splendid to see.

You can't go into the castle without a tour. But the bridge you can if it is open. Again check the website, you are going in the winter and it may not be open due to the weather.

Have a safe and fun time.

Thank you, Ann! Your answer was very helpful in planning out my day. I went with your recommendation and I am going on a Monday.

Google has rough estimates for popular times and days and according to them the least crowded days are Mon-Tues-Wed. Things start to pick up Thurs-Fri, Sat and Sun are peak days (with Sun the worst). Before 11am is the least crowded time of day (I assume this is right before tour buses show up).

We we have taken people there it was always first thing in the morning.
