Our daughter will be traveling from Berlin to London to join a travel group. What is the best means of travel to get from Berlin to London? When looking up trains I see the trains are not direct and many are 2 and 3 stops or transfers and take an entire day. Is flight the best option? Would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.
Also, there are two airports in Berlin - Schoenefeld largely for budget airlines and Tegel for flag carriers. If your daughter flies from Schoenefeld tell her to get there in plenty of time, as it is very crowded nowadays.
Flying is absolutely the easiest and most convenient, even if you figure in the transportation to/from airports. I am guessing she will most likely be flying out of Schönefeld airport (budget airline hub), which is to the southeast of Berlin. There is a "Flughafen Express" regional train and a couple of S-Bahn lines that go from the city to the airport -- all very inexpensive options and take ~35-45 minutes, I believe.
