What would be the best way to travel from Berlin to Frankfurt. Are the night buses comfortable? I do have German Rail pass. And, any recommendation for reasonable places to stay in Frankfurt or in its vicinity. We have a day to spend in Frankfurt before catching the plane the next day.

If you have a German Rail Pass, why don't you take any one of the hourly direct trains to Frankfurt? Takes just over 4 hours.

In the early morning (6:02) and late afternoon (18:04) the rare ICE Sprinters run from Berlin to Frankfurt non-stop in just over 3½ hrs. The train requires a reservation, which, with a rail pass, is 11,50€/P.
