Go on a walking tour or bike tour to see as many sites as possible in an efficient, but interesting manner. My recommendation is with Insider Tours as they do a great orientation tour of Berlin.

I am a big fan of Motel One. Bargain rooms, but with great beds and showers, and in several locations.
