Berlin's DDR Museum vs. Wittenberg's House of History (Haus der Geschichte)

Has anyone been to both these museums? I definitely want to go to the DDR Museum in Berlin and am wondering if the House of History in Wittenberg is redundant. Is it worthwhile to go to both?

Thanks, George. That is helpful. Yes, I will be in Berlin for 5 days and am looking forward to the German History Museum (DHM) also. I know it will be more valuable than the DDR Museum.

Can you say, Ostalgie? I was in East Berlin for a week in 1986, and there is nothing to be nostalgic about. Rent "Das Leben des Anderen" The Lives of Others instead.

I've only been to the DDR Museum. Yes it was small and there were a lot of people there, but it didn't feel uncomfortable. I liked the hands-on experiences. There's a difference between reading about the shoddy clothing and actually feeling the awful materials.

Afterthought . . .I was disappointed by the Checkpoint Charlie and Jewish Museums, though.

Valkyrie is a lot of liberties. Unfortunately I haven't seen the others.

The Counterfeiters is a good movie. I hated Valkyrie maybe because I hate Tom Cruise.
