Just as a reminder for all of you: The world-famous Pergamon Museum in Berlin with its unique Pergamon Altar and the original 8th gate to the ancient inner city of Baghdad will close for extensive renovation on September 29th, 2014. It will not reopen untl 2019!

Just to be clear, it's the hall that contains the altar that will be closed; not the entire Pergamon Museum.

Wow, thanks, Andreas! I didn't think to check auf Deutsch, but there's no explanation/description of work to be done in English. I know from TV shows that there's ALOT of work to be done, though.
I can now comfortably postpone my forays into Berlin for a few years now ;-)
