Berlin: Myer's Hotel vs. Hotel Kastanienhof

We are active 70 years old with travel experience, but we also like quiet sleeping quarters. We will spend four nights in Berlin, first timers there. Looking for a mid-range, clean, quiet hotel near subway. Which do you recommend? Myer's Hotel and Hotel Kastnaienhof?

I can’t speak to the Myers Hotel; however, six years ago I stayed at the Hotel “K” you referenced . My room faced the street and it was very noisy with the tram stop in front of the hotel. Very loud squeaking noises when the tram stops and starts. Having the tram stop is convenient, perhaps you could get a room away from the street. The Prater Biergarten is conveniently right up the street.

I also recall the Hotel “K” having pay room safes. Every time one locked the safe it required a Euro coin to lock the safe.

We stayed at the Myer's hotel last fall and absolutely loved it. It's located in a quiet residential area. Public transportation was within walking distance. Berlin is an amazing city. Really enjoyed our 4 nights there. Have fun
