Berlin Museum Pass

Hello-
I purchased the Berlin Museum Pass online and then wanted to reserve a time slot for the Gemäldegalerie. I was only able to find an option to reserve for the current special exhibit (Hugo van der Goes, as it happens) but not a separate option for the permanent collection only. I assume that I’ll be able to tour the permanent collection after the exhibition, but wanted to see if anyone had any experience at this museum? The exhibition is a nice to see, but I’m mostly interested in the old masters and would be disappointed if I hadn’t booked properly. Thank you!

I have no recent experience at the Gemaldegalerie to back this up, but: It is a very unusual museum that sets up a special exhibition so that exits, as well as entrances, are controlled. The entrance to an extra-charge exhibition is usually controlled by personnel, and you generally have to walk through part of the museum to reach that entrance. Most often the exit is separate from the entrance, but even if it is not, in the absence of a special door from the sidewalk to the part of the museum dedicated to the special exhibition, to stop you from seeing other parts of the museum, they'd have to escort you out of the building.

You might be able to reassure yourself by finding a floor plan of the Gemaldegalerie and locating the "temporary exhibition" rooms
