Berlin Food Tours

I am looking for any updates on available food tours. We have taken two before(Madrid and Taormina) and thoroughly enjoyed them. I do see Berlin Bites but would rather do an early evening tour. Fork and Walk tours are a little steep for us. RS says it is a very fluid situation so I was wondering if there are any other recommendations. Last update was 2017.
Thanks

Various food tour companies in europe that I have used in the past are still sending me emails about virtual tours they are currently doing. I suspect that's all they are doing in the near future.

hey hey ellen
don't know what your budget is to spend on a food tour, couple sites to check:
eatwith.com/berlin on event time click dinner food tour
withlocals.com/berlin check the food tours available and times
biteberlin.com send an email to them what tours are available
getyourguide.com
berlinfoodtour.de closed now for covid-19. keep an alert out
berlinfood.tours
stop at a tourist kiosk usually in city center plazas and see what they offer. good luck and enjoy

I do not know if this an option for you but Berlin and its restaurant scene is easy to explore because it is even too huge to visit every restaurant in some years.

You can also visit foodie place such as Markthalle 9 or Arminiushalle. On Saturday mornings the week(end) markets are somehow a must-have.

You will also find some delicious places to visit in the outer districts.

Seasonal food is always worth a tip. For example asparagus season is very special in Berlin because some of the best natural floors fo asparagus you will find around Berlin - Beelitz is the most famous one.

Also interesting are the differences of East and West which still exist, e. g. how to eat a Currywurst or the big difference how to bake the best Schrippe (Berlin slang for water based bread roles).

Whatever you go for: "Guten Appetit!"

Several years ago we did a Berlin Food Tour of the Mitte with Bastian. It was fabulous, and the information he provided far surpassed food. We learned a lot about Berlin as well. But I notice that they are closed until further notice, due to Covid-19.

Tours are still not permitted in Germany until at least 18 April. No tours of any kind. Wait until tours can start up again to see what is still available as a lot of companies will have gone bust by then, from lack of support.
2017 guide books are sadly woefully out of date about what is going to be available in 2021 or 2022, as all the information is from 2016 basically. You might check tour listings on Trip Advisor, then go to their websites to see what they offer and read reviews. Yelp is used in Germany, but not very much.
