I’ve been having difficulty purchasing advanced tickets online for the museum. The site won’t accept either ‘choose a day’ tickets or ‘good for 365 days’ tickets. Does anyone have a suggestion (other than “Keep trying, the website is wonky”)?

Is the problem that you can't complete the purchase after entering your credit card? If so, you may be running into a problem related to "3D secure" authentication of your credit card.

Just buy the ticket when you go. The day I visited in May the museum was not crowded and there was no line waiting to buy tickets to get in. The day before I visited the Pergamon Museum which I had purchased a ticket for online. I need not have bothered as there were only a few people in the queue waiting to buy ticket. I think that people need to be mindful of when it is advantageous to buy a ticket beforehand and when they do not need to bother.

I tend to agree with the above post. I've been there twice and just bought a ticket at the door. You save a little over a euro by buying on line, but it's nice to have the flexibility to go whenever you want to go (instead of committing to a day).
