Berlin - Bundestag - visit options!

We are going to be in Berlin in May and want to visit Reichstag. I went to bundestag.de to register which gives 3 options: Do lecture, do guided tour or visit dome. I know for tour and/or lecture the registration must be made 3 months in advance where as dome is only 2 months. But when I get to the point where I am to choose my date I keep getting message "There are currently no appointments available for the event type".

Is any one going to tour bundestag and was successful at registering? Thanks

I tried to sign up for the dome visit a few weeks ahead last fall and was too late to get a slot. Seems like it's hard to avoid being either too early or too late. I was able to sign up for the tour, which was good but entirely in German so mostly lost to me. It ended at the dome, where they turned us loose to ascend and descend with good multi-language audio. That might be a way to go if you have time to spare -- and the inside of the building, including Bundestag chamber and Russian graffiti, is quite memorable.

I can't speak to your specific experience except to agree that the website is very hard to use. Good luck!

I think what Granny is saying is that she can't even get to the part where she submits a date. I just tried and it's telling me the same thing for all 3 options. There must be some kind of glitch in the system that is not allowing reservations to be made right now.

I tried it with the registration I want (I want to sit in on a plenary session) and managed to get to the dates. However, the dates option I want is not yet available but that part does seem to be working - it's only not working for people who want to see the dome.

Granny, I have an email address from them when I first contacted them about this, if you'd like to use it to let them know that there is a problem. It is besuchertribuene (at) bundestag (dot) de. Good luck!
