Berlin B &Bs

My husband and I are spending some extra time in Germany after a Rick Steve's Tour in late July/early August.

Can anyone provide recommendation for B & Bs that are conveniently located, well-run and moderately priced? Many thanks.

It's not a B+B, but rather a convenient, modest-priced, smallish hotel. The name is ARCOTEL Velvet. It on a tram line that stops at the front door with loads of places to eat nearby. The tram connects with other transit modes that will lead you just about any place you would probably want to go.

You might have a look at Pension Peters, which is located in the area between Savignyplatz and Bahnhof Zoo. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff are wonderful and they serve a nice breakfast.

If you're on a Germany tour, you'll receive Rick's book with lots of hotel recommendations. I also enjoyed the price and convenience of Pension Peter. The "center" of Berlin action is moving more toward the east, so Rick now lists quite a few places on the east side.

I found Pension Peters just ok, but it might be because it was under construction at the time. If you do go there, be verry verry careful where you tear and butter your breakfast bun. I got in trouble twice because I left crumbs on the counter. :)
