I was looking at the area around Tucholskystrabe Mitte..is that a good place to find a place to stay?
thanks
Easily, enough hotels and hostels in reach. Stay away from apartments.
Tip: "ß" is not a "b" - use "ss" to replace it. So Hauptstraße is best written Hauptstrasse. More about German special letter ß.
thank you for the information :)
I traveled to Berlin in 2022 as a solo female (older) traveler, and stayed in the Hackescher Markt area. The area is very convenient to the U-Bahn, S-Bahn, and trams, and is an easy walk to the major museums. The DDR museum is only a few blocks away, along with the TV Tower, and Museum Island is a quick 5 minute walk. You can easily walk to Lindenstraß from there, There are several grocery stores a few blocks away along with a couple of wine shops, many cafes and good restaurants. I would definitely stay in this location again.
The hotel I stayed at was the Adina Apartment Hotel Hackescher Markt, which I really liked, but there are lots of other hotels in the area.
Mardee, ditto! Same hotel, same area. Highly recommend it.
We just stayed across the street from the train station--100'. Easy to get anywhere, including to and from the airport. Restaurants were all over the place too.
The Ibis Berlin Hauptbahnhof was a decent place to stay.
I stayed at the same Adina mentioned above in November. I'm a big fan of the chain.
I'm returning to Berlin next month and I'll be trying a different Adina. This time closer to the Hauptbanhof.
But there was nothing wrong with the one near Hackesher Markt.
Mardee, ditto! Same hotel, same area. Highly recommend it.
Ha ha, Golden Girl! Great minds do think alike, lol!!
