Wha is the best way to get to our hotel in Prenzlauer Berg? We will be travel weary I am sure but are willing to use public transportation if it isn't too complicated.
I think you'll get the most accurate answer if you contact your hotel and ask them directly, or look at their website for directions. We don't know which hotel you're staying at.
Buys the ticket at the airport or on the bus. Important have small money 5€ or 10€.
Where you want to go in Prenzlauer Berg.
a - Bus TXL to S Beusselstr. from here S41 to Schönhauser Allee or Prenzlauer Allee or S Greifswalder Str.
b- Bus TXL to Alexanderplatz from here U2 to Eberswalder Str. (Berlin)
Everything for 2,70€

We are staying at Hotel Myers on Metzer Strasse
My proposal is and the hotel recommends the same.
Bus TXL to Alexanderplatz
Tram M2 to Prenzlauer Allee/Metzer Str. (the third stop)
(Then you make already a Sightseeing tour.)
Or better yet, 4 trip packet for 9 Euro, for two of you that covers to and from the airport.Available from machines or counter when leaving Tegel.
The M2 tram runs between Alexander Platz and the Prenzlauer Allee S-bahn station. That will get you within a half a block of the Hotel Myers, which is about half way between the two.
Thanks everyone for all the help! Now I have another problem - just see there will be a train strike and I have reservations to go from Berlin to Prague on the 24th - by train. I assume I should quickly get bus reservations - anyone know which bus company is best?
