I've been looking into hotels and I'm trying to see which one is just in a pretty, less urban area. I've done street view already but I would love to hear peoples' experiences if they know the area:
Art Hotel Charlottenburger Hof
Ivbergs Berlin Messe
ProArte Maritim
I know ProArte is in the most central area but the area looks ugly.
Art Hotel Charlottenburger Hof is across the street from Charlottenburg train station, not my idea of a "pretty, less urban area".
... and Ivbergs is on the very busy Heerstraße.
I once had a hotel in the northern part of Kreuzberg, which sadly has finished business. Quiet area with a normal neighbourhood feeling, and at walking distance from Mitte. The NH Berlin-Kreuzburg might fit your bill.

I would not pick either place on Heerstrasse or Arte Hotel near the Charlottenburg S-Bahn station.
