  1. Yes, as long as it is in the validity time period. After 9 am weekdays, or anytime weekends and German holidays.
  2. Meridian runs all the regional trains between Munich and Salzburg, so yes.

Can we use Bayern Pass to Travel within Nuremberg city (for buses Trams in Nuremberg)

As the others say, you can, but that makes sense only if you arrive from some other place in Bavaria und want to use the BT for the rest of the day. If your are already in Nürnberg it's cheaper and more flexbible to use a VGN day ticket (VGN = Greater Nürnberg transport authority). There are several types, the cheapest including urban transport in Nürnberg, Fürth & Stein only, the most expensive covering the entire VGN area (e.g., Rothenburg o.d.T. to the west or Bamberg to the nord). details at www.vgn.com. If you need help go to the VGN customer center, which is in the underpass between the main station (Hauptbahnhof) and the gate to the historcial center ("Königstorpassage"); you could go also to the DB Reisezentrum in the main station, but the DB folks are often clueless when it comes to urban transport.

Hi
Thanks for your inputs. We are indeed coming from Munich with the Bayern Pass so can use it for local transport as well.
We tried the utility of Nuremberg card but it has the validity of 2 days and moreover you need to stay in Nuremberg.
So Bayern pass is the best option.

The VGN is a HUGE area, you don't actually have to stay in the city to benefit.

Dear Ms/Mr Tipnis,

Thank you for your e-mail.

Yes the requirement for the NurembergCard is that you stay at a hotel in Nuremberg or Fürth. The Card is only available for two days, we do not have any city pass for one day.

For further information do not hesitate to contact us again.

Kind regards,

HI

WE are a group of 6 senior citizens travelling to Nuremberg for a day from Munich. Can you pl inform us if any one day pass is available or only the 2 day city pass we have to buy.
Also in your flyer you have mentioned that " Only requirement: You stay overnight in Nuremberg or Fürth in an official commercial accomodation."
Does it mean that we have to stay in Nuremberg to use this pass?
We already have a Bayern Pass so use of 2 day city pass will be only for admission to museums

ajittipnis: You are confusing two different cards. No one on this forum is suggesting the Nuremberg Card.

The advice was probably intended to direct you to the VGN Tagesticket Plus. This is a day pass for all local transport valid at ANY hour of the day. You buy it from a ticket machine at the station, no matter who you are or where you are staying. It's only for transportation.

It has a special perk - if you buy one for a Saturday, it is valid on Sunday as well.

You can use this day pass to visit the towns within the VGN travel zone - all the places on this map.

I've used this pass many times. You can too. However, it is valid only for 2 adults - so your group of 6 adults would require 3 of them. If you will be in Nuremberg only one day, the Bayern Ticket is probably the cheapest option. However, the round trip on the train from Munich will cost you about 4 hours time since you are using the day pass (vs. 2 hours on the fast trains, which of course are more expensive round trip by a large margin.) Note that you cannot use the Bayern Ticket prior to 9 on weekdays - so your morning will be nearly over by the time you arrive in Nuremberg.

Depending on the day and hour you travel, the VGN day pass may be a favorable alternative to the Bayern Tickets if you were to end up using the (more expensive) fast train option to Nuremberg.
