Bayern Munich Football (soccer) tickets

This is my first time on the forum. I will be traveling with my family to Munich in May and will be there during a Bayern Munich football game . Any advice on how to safely purchase tickets from the US before we depart? Also, do they use electronic tickets vs paper? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum.

The bad news is that Bayern München league games are sold out since beginning of season.

Only game in which they might participate but have to qualify first is the German Soccer Cup final in Berlin. two hours ago they hardly won the regular league game versus Werder Bremen which is their opponent in the semifinal game mid of next week too.

Thank you for your response and information. Do you know if international stubhub is as reliable as stubhub in US for resale tickets?

Sorry, I cannot tell you if this is reliable for German Bundesliga tickets. Normally trading the tickets on black market is forbidden and I like to give a clear warning that there are also fake tickets on the market.

Club BVB Dortmund has an own reliable second market for tickets of their games. I do not know if Bayern München has this as well.

Maybe you will find public viewing places in Munich for last games of season? A German website about that: https://www.muenchen.de/veranstaltungen/public-viewing.html

Unfortunately buying tickets for any major top division football match in Europe is pretty difficult for the casual spectator. Tickets are generally released first to season ticket holders and club members of which the vast majority are taken. You then have to take into account the numbers set aside for corporate hospitality and the few that are released to the general public get snapped up very quickly. There is also a thriving black market for fake tickets, if you buy one there is absolutely no recourse, you'll have lost your money, you won't see the game and you'll have no grounds for complaint.

Does it have to be a Bayern Munich game? Typically the lower league games are much easier to get tickets for and the football (and atmosphere) can often be just as good. Compare the atmosphere at Portsmouth FC's Fratton Park to somewhere like Old Trafford and you'll see what I mean.

My son is a Bayern Munich fan so I thought it would be fun for him to see them. But from the responses, it looks like watching from a public spot is our only option. Thank you for the response and maybe next time we will try your suggestion! I appreciate your insight.
