My family (2 adults, 2 kids 7 and 9 yrs) will be staying in Pfronten this weekend (with car) with 2 full days for activites / sightseeing. In an ideal world, I had planned 1 day seeing Neuschwanstein and neighboring castle (exteriors only) and 1 day for Zugspitze / seeing a small town or 2 in Austria - just to say we were in another country. Unfortunately, It looks like 1 day may be rainy. I think we'll have space to pack some umbrellas in the car, but I'm wondering if there are suggestions for a rainy day activity? Something that might be partially indoors? Is Linderhof a good choice?
There is no bad weather only the wrong clothes. Just prepare for rain. I’m in Munich right now. It was somewhat rainy yesterday. I still went to the zoo and Nymphenburg. It rained all day today. I still walked all over The Dachau Memorial. Just make sure you have your rain gear and keep your plans. And there is no harm in getting a little wet.
yes, I understand. But our itinerary is open and certain options like Zugspitze are probably not the wisest choice for a grey and rainy day. We will definitely do the castles on our sunniest day because that is our number 1 site to see. For the rainy day, I'm looking for ideas other than Zugspitze.
