Bavaria road trip early November

We are doing a road trip next month and are looking for ideas and suggestions.

I know cramming this much in I will only get to see the highlights but that is what we are looking for.  I am perfectly fine driving for hours on end as long as it is a scenic drive.

Day 1 and 2: Munich

Day 3: Rothenberg, and try to get a view only of Hohenzollern or lichtenstein castle. I am still looking for a good town to stay in the area for the night.

Day 4: Fussen, and stay in Mittenwald

Day 5: Lake königssee, Slazburg

Day 6: Salzburg and Hallstatt

Day 7: Munich, (Dachau)

Day 8: Fly home

Two of the big things I wanted to see are closed due to the time of the year, the Eagles Nest and the Ice Caves. But if there are any other must see things that I can fit into an already tight schedule, or anything that may be more worth my time then what I have listed, please let me know.

Rothenburg is the outlier in your trip and your desired combination with Lichtenstein /Hohenzollern doesn't give you adequate time for either (sunset in mid-November is ca. 16:30). So I'd skip R. and get an additional day for Munich.

There are towns in Germany called Rothenberg, but I don't think that is where you want to go. I think you want Rothenburg (ob der Tauber). If you are using something like Google Maps, you could get directions to the wrong place.

And, Day 5: ... Slazburg?

I also think Hallstatt is a bit of a stretch in a day, particularly if you are planning to see anything of Salzburg that day.

You will never be able to see everything. Don't try. I've been going to Bavaria for 17 years, and there are still more places I want to see.
