Bavara last minute trip - bad idea?

Tacking on a vacation after a business trip from June 15-19 (I'll be in Prague before those dates for more tourism). This is obviously pretty last minute. I wouldn't have a car and would plan on using Munich/Salzburg as a base, with a few side trips (perhaps Rothenburg, Nördlingen, Regensburg, Neuschwanstein Castle).

The weather forecast looks bad (rain every day). Because of this, should I consider finding a different destination? The length of time, bad weather for views, and no car in Germany would detract from the experience?

"...should I consider finding a different destination?"

I'd go to Franconia (Franken) instead. Closer to Prague, much less touristy than Neuschwanstein and Salzburg and the Romantic Road towns (although super-touristy Rothenburg is actually in Franconia.) Bamberg, Würzburg are great, authentically German destinations. Nuremberg is great too. Stay in Nuremberg and visit Regensburg and the other places from there. The beer culture in this region has deep roots.

To quote a line from Under the Tuscan Sun, a rather bad, yet enjoyable, movie for those in love with Italy, " Bad Ideas, don't you just love them?"

I'm flying into Munich on Saturday. Bringing my rain jacket and umbrella. Spending 3 nights there and then off to St. Goar for 3 more. They have things to do indoors, like drink beer!
