We're planning a hiking trip to Black Forest and concerned about dying forests due to the bark beetle. Has anyone hiked, snowshoed, etc, recently around Feldberg, Schluchsee or Bonndorf to know if those forests are healthy?

What is your concern? Trees or branches falling on you? Or scenery? I can understand why you might not want to hike in a dead forest.
It's more about scenery, but we have lots of experience hiking through infected Lodgepole Pine forests, where there is some risk of injury. It does make me nervous.
