We are planning a trip for May of 2023 and hope to spend one night in Bamburg. I was surprised to see that most of the hotels are sold out for the days that we will be there (5/19-5/20). Is Bamburg just that popular, or could it be due to the fact that there is a soccer match on 5/20? We also wondered if it might be too early to book and if vacancies will open up as we get closer to our travel dates.

Use Booking.com for those dates. There seems to be rooms available.

You might be a little early for many of the hotel websites. I find that in Booking.Com Check back. Never had a problem in Bamberg even if I needed one the day before.

I guess I should have said “most hotels are unavailable“. There are some taking reservations.

Book a refundable room now and if something better you like opens up, cancel and book the other. You have a lot of time until May.
